Today my blog turns one!

I’m honestly amazed at how fast time has flown since my first post.


My blog has grown wider and faster than I ever imagined! I honestly never envisioned anyone but my family and a couple friends reading what I babble in this space, and I’m so thankful for everyone who has been along for the ride. As an incredibly busy high schooler, I’m proud and surprised that this blog has only grown as time has passed.

The past year on my blog has been tumultuous, to say the least. I’ve begun to experiment with raw and gluten-free cooking and baking. I’ve posted four times in a week and gone a few without a word. I’ve put up posts full of words and no recipes and been shocked to get an enthusiastic response. At the same time, I’ve been blown away by how many people try my food, and beyond elated that so many love it.

When I was little, I wanted to be a chef. I told everyone that I was going to go to the CIA- not the spies, of course, but the Culinary Institute of America. Funnily enough, I don’t see culinary school in my future, but I’m hoping for a career in law enforcement. Times change, I guess.

I’ll be back with a recipe soon, but I just wanted to take today to pause and thank everyone for sticking with this blog, whether you’ve been reading for a day or since last summer. I’m already knee deep in preparing for this blog’s function while I’m at college starting this fall, and I cannot wait to see where Whisk & Shout will go in the coming year(s!).

I’m also giving Tumblr a try, so check me out over there and don’t be too alarmed if I accidentally reblog a picture of Harry Styles or something. ((I’m still a teenager, people))

    I’ll have to follow you on Tumblr. My daughter set up a tumblr account for me and I have no idea how to use it. Just have to ask her what my password is first. LOL!
