There’s always a time of year for me when all my activities converge into some sort of untangle-able ball of yarn-type mess.
In high school, it was the first two weeks of November, because I had daily rehearsals for pit orchestra for my school’s musical, extra practices for my Indian dance recital, schoolwork, and inevitably a couple dance shows somewhere in the mix.
It’s comforting to know that even though I’m 300 miles away from home, some things haven’t changed. As multiple dance shows approach, my last round of midterms looms over the horizon, and I juggle work and classes, the first two weeks of November are definitely proving themselves as my most stressful weeks of the year.
The good part? Once this busy period is over, it’s generally smooth sailing. Let’s hope that in my college life, this trend from high school carries over as well.
In the mean time, I’ve been decompressing the best way I know how. Drooling over pictures of food. And now it’s your turn. Here’s what I’ve been obsessed with this week:
Can we talk about how this pumpkin alfredo tortellini dish is a work of art?
Ok but this gnocchi mac and cheese is d e c a d e n t.
This spicy peanut stew with squash and chickpeas is the kind of comfort food I need.
Brown butter and sage go so well together, and you know what pairs even better? PASTA.
I don’t know if you’ve noticed yet, but today I’m kinda having a creamy pasta thing.
Roasted tomato and mascarpone soup already sounds like the best thing ever but did I mention it has grilled cheese croutons?
This shaved brussels sprouts salad is the most exciting of all salads.
I want this pumpkin brioche bread for every meal ever.
Maple peanut bars with frosting? Um, yes.
These soft-baked peanut butter toffee milk chocolate cookies are unreal.
These cookies look amazing and are flourless. Also, peanut butter.
Just in case you were missing an autumnal layer in magic bars: pumpkin spice oreo magic cookie bars are here for you.
Also these fluffernutter chocolate chip cookies are !!!!!!!!!!!.
And how these sticky buns are not single, not double, but triple glazed?
Honey Walnut Pumpkin Pie Tassies. So small. So cute. I’d eat maybe 14.
Speaking of honey, this maple honey apple pie is giving me life. That’s right, it’s pie season, folks.
Pumpkin is NOT over, people, and this vegan pumpkin chip bread proves it.
