Frothy Monkey {Nashville, TN}

April 21, 2015 by Medha 42 Comments

Last week I was in Nashville!

I’ve been kind of all over the place the last few weeks what with committing to college and then visiting college and then Nashville… and did I mention this Friday is my senior prom?

It’s kind of crazy around here!

My trip to Nashville was with my school music program, and as a consequence, it was super structured. Each day, all 275 of us jumped from activity to activity and American restaurant to karaoke bar. As a vegan, I was kinda stuck eating plain hamburger buns and a lot of lettuce.

I figured, time to make this trip my own.

So finally on the second day when we had some time to explore, my friend and I headed over to the Frothy Monkey (aka: the cutest café in Nashville that also serves food all. day. long!)

We shared a not-vegan-cookie (shhhhhh) and I had some awesome citrus-y jasmine tea that was somehow purple. I don’t question the Frothy Monkey.

The café itself was adorable and furnished in an industrial-meets-modern type way, with lots of awesome exposed brick. They also had a bunch of local chocolate and coffee available for purchase, and I jumped out of my anti-coffee comfort zone with some dark chocolate with espresso beans (this time vegan!)

I loved the chilled out vibe and food and drink and I definitely recommend stopping by if you’re ever in Nashville!

See my other coffee shop adventure here and if you’re now craving cookies? I gotcha.

    Wow, your prom is early. Our seniors don’t have theirs until late May!
    Sounds like a really fun trip. And if you’re gonna cheat, cheat with a cookie!

      In classic Whitman fashion, early-mid May interferes with AP plans and late may with Memorial Day scheduling 🙂

    Oh my gosh, it seems like a lifetime ago that Alex went to her prom. Have fun and please take pictures!

    Visiting Nashville is on my list of things to do this year. I’ll definitely have to check out this cute little coffee shop. 🙂

    Enjoy the next few months! Prom was such a great memory for my friends and me. College is going to be such a different and new step, but I guarantee that you’ll love it especially New England in the autumn. Nashville looks like it was a blast especially that coffee shop.

    We never had a prom in our school. They are not really a big thing here in the UK.
